Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Studies by the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, Master’s Degree in Finance by the Boston College, and Honorary Doctorate in Architecture and Technology by the Universidad Camilo José Cela.
He is a Spanish entrepreneur, angel investor, and executive. Currently, he is the co-founder and Product Manager of Pensero, President and owner of Solón Inversiones, S.L., and an Advisor to SandboxAQ and OpenChip. He is a trustee and member of the Board of Directors of Fundeso, the Board of Directors of Mapfre USA, the board of trustees of Fundación Princesa de Girona para la Casa Real Española, and the jury of the Premios Princesa de Asturias para Ciencias y Tecnología.
He has founded and participated in various technology companies in Spain: co-founder of Idealista (2000-2015), Executive Director of Google (2005-2013), investor and Chairman of the board of Tuenti (2006-2010), one of the leading social networks in Spain, member of the board of directors of Bodaclick.com (2012-2014) –the first Spanish internet company to go public–, founder and president of StepOne (2008-2017) –a company that helps Spanish technology companies in their internationalization process for the United States–, managing director of Zagat (2011-2013), CEO of Flickr and Senior Vice President of Product at Yahoo! (2013-2015), investor in Glovo (2015-2018), member of the Board of Directors of Desigual (2015-2018), CEO and principal investor of the Spanish fintech company Verse (2015-2020), partner at Headline (2016-2021), and Senior Advisor at PwC (2018-2023). He has invested in the companies Closca, Goi, Chalk, Paack, Citibox, Fever, Stripe, and Wallapop.
His professional career has been recognized with the National Innovation and Design Award (2023) granted by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Banco Santander Foundation, and the ICADE Association Award for Promising Career Achievement (2011), among others.
