Sara Sundberg is a professor from the University of Central Missouri who specializes in early American history and U.S. women’s history. A doctor from Louisiana State University, she teaches courses in colonial American history (broadly defined), American Revolution and early Republic, North American women’s history, and upper-division and graduate program reading and writing courses. She is co-author of Farm Women on the Prairie Frontier: A Sourcebook for Canada and the United States and has published multiple articles for edited collections and journals. Dr. Sundberg is the recipient of research grants from the National Endowment of the Humanities, American Philosophical Society and American Historical Association, among others. She researches and writes about early American women from places and times in transition such as frontier or borderland regions. She is currently working on a book-length study about early Louisiana as a legal borderland.
