The program includes, visits to institutions, government offices or associations relevant to the specific topic of study.
Some of the visits done in the past:
During this visit the students from the International Studies Program will have the opportunity to enter the Alcalá-Meco Madrid II Prison. Students will learn about the Spanish penitentiary system, what the objectives of imprisonment are or how the grade progression policy is implemented. They will also have the opportunity to visit the facilities and talk with prison administrators and inmates.
In this visit, students and faculty have the opportunity to visit the Court House and learn about the legal processes in Spain. They will meet with the Chief Judge, who will explain how the Spanish legal system works together with the Court House general procedures. Students will witness a trial in order see the Court room distribution and the legal procedures in action.
Students and faculty will visit the Police Station in Alcalá. They will meet with the Head Police Inspector who will give them a tour of the facilities explaining the different sections and units. Students will have the opportunity to experience the daily life of the Police department and interview different police members to learn about their responsibilities.
In addition to specific visits, when the schedule permits it, students have the opportunity to participate in the program of cultural activities offered by Instituto Franklin-UAH for its international students.
