Teach & Learn in Spain Program
Program orientation
ORIENTATION SESSIONS: SEPTEMBER 5TH and SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2012:
Documents for the Orientation Sessions:
During the Orientation sesssions students will fill in the needed forms to request an appointment for your TIE. (Tarjeta de Identidad para Extranjeros- student ID in Spain). They will have to bring the following documents:
Internship
Accepted applicants to the Teach & Learn Program must fulfill an internship throughout the academic year in different schools of the region of Madrid- Comunidad de Madrid.
Internship characteristics:
- The internship will be from 18 to 25 hours per week.
- Interns will have no labor relation with schools.
- Interns will assist teachers in the classroom from pre-school to secondary school.
Scholarship & Costs
All applicants accepted to the Teach & Learn Program are enrolled to the Master at Universidad de Alcala, under a full tuition academic scholarship with funds provided by Instituto Franklin and participant schools of the region of Madrid- Comunidad de Madrid. Students are doing an internship as language assisstants in schools and they also receive a monthly stipend depending on the practicum hours. Please check "Internship" information.

1. Who can apply?
All native English speaking students who already have a Bachelor’s Degree.
2. What are the language requirements for the Masters' Degree classes and for the internship?
Classes are taught in both English and Spanish for the Master's in Bilingual and Multicultural Education and
students may have an intermediate Spanish level.

El Máster en Aprendizaje y Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera está fundamentalmente dirigido a hablantes nativos de inglés interesados en profundizar en el aprendizaje y la enseñanza de la lengua española como lengua extranjera (ELE).
Master in Bilingual and Multicultural Education
The Master of Bilingual and Multicultural Education prepares students to work as teachers in bilingual schools and to function effectively in a culturally different setting.
Master in International Education
The Master in International Education is part of the Teach & Learn Program. It is based upon the idea that countries are more connected and dependent on each other and education can not break away from this reality. Future professionals of international education must develop certain competences and skills necessary for all the challenges of the international community where constant political, social, economic and cultural changes are taking place and affect education.
