7th International Conference on Chicano Literature in León (2010)

The Universidad de León hosted the 7th International Conference on Chicano Literature to serve as a center of debate among researchers, scholars and writers as well as to share new findings in the field of Chicano literature. This international event has taken place in Spain every two years since 1998. Previous editions were organized in Granada (1998), Vitoria (2000), Málaga (2002), Seville (2004), Alcalá de Henares (2006) and Alicante (2008).

The conference, which was held between May 27th -29th , 2010, was organized by the Departamento de Filología Moderna at Universidad de León (ULE) in collaboration with ADECHAN (Asociación Española para el Diálogo y Estudio de las Culturas Hispanas en América del Norte) and Instituto Franklin - UAH.

The theme of the conference was "Writing the landscape /landscapes of writing".

The official languages of the conference were both Spanish and English.
