Nature: to promote the creation of new literary works within the framework of hispanos in the United States.
Candidates: North- American writers with Hispanic origins that has published at least three works individually
Conditions: The scholarship holder must offer a work of an unpublished piece, preferably written during the scholarship stay, to be published in CAMINO REAL. In case that the creator publishes the literary work afterwards in another editorial or edition there should be stated the given aid. The holder shall also stay in the Instituto Franklin at least three weeks of the scholarship duration.
Submission papers: Filled application form together with the three required publications and curriculum.
Scope: $2.000 for accommodation, transportation, computer support, office material and meals expenses
Application period: February, every year.
Decision: it will be announced at the Closing Ceremony of the 7th International Conference on Chicano Literature that will take place in León in May. Then, it will also be published at Instituto Franklin's website.
Call for applications: 2010 CLOSED. Next call: February, 2011.
Duration and dates: 1 month (May or July).
Eligibility criteria: A Commission designated by the Instituto Franklin will study the proposals and evaluate them.
