Instituto Franklin considers American Studies to be an interdisciplinary field of study which allows to acquire a better knowledge pertaining to the territories and communities in all of their aspects which form the North American subcontinent and the area that influences it; paying special attention to the United States.
Instituto Franklin develops and carries out research studies that cover different aspects related to North America; such as History, Philosophy, Politics, Economics, Sociology, Arts, Literature, Linguistics, Sciences, and Technology. Instituto Franklin is interested in knowing, analyzing, and interpreting the North American reality, in all of its dimensions, in order to compare them with other realities that focus on identity questions and transatlantic relations, especially Spain-US relations.
Main researchers and collaborate researchers of the Institute belong to groups and work in differente research projects. Each group has a place at Institute's venue. Research groups are divided into four branches of knowledge:
