Orientation Sessions

The purpose of the orientation sessions is to provide our students with practical, cultural and academic information in order to make their study abroad experience more enjoyable.

Host families will accompany their students to the Instituto Franklin on the first day of the Orientation Sessions.

Orientation Sessions include very important information on medical insurance, public transport, details about life with Spanish families and cultural differences. Students will be given a detailed breakdown of the courses offered including information about cultural activities and field trips that supplement the lectures.

In order to facilitate student life at the university and in its surroundings, students are taken on two tours during the orientation week:

  1. A city tour of Alcalá and the university to introduce students to a variety of places with historical, cultural and/or social significance.
  2. A walking tour of Madrid to help orientate students around the capital as well as how to use the extensive public transport network available.
