Prerequisites: Intermediate level of Spanish
This course is designed for future health care professionals (doctors, nurses, medical assistants, paramedics, EMTs, administrators) who need to use Spanish in their workplace. The course has a practical approach, which includes learning medical terminology, understanding the most commonly used grammatical structures and learning cultural aspects which every health care professional should know. The objectives of this course are as follows:
1. Improve students´ability to communicate in a medical environment
2. Understand the differences between medical terminology in Latin American and in Spain
3. Understand the principal cultural differences in a health care environment
