This is the second consecutive year that Instituto Franklin - UAH will be participating in the “Semana de la Ciencia” (Science Week), an annual project organized by the Community of Madrid in conjunction with various academic and nonacademic institutions.
Its main objective is to promote the scientific culture by opening the doors of universities and public research centers to the public, allowing citizens access into the different projects that scientists and researchers conduct in these institutions.
The 2011 edition will take place between the 7th and 20th of November at the headquarters of each collaborating institute.
Instituto Franklin - UAH will be participating in four activities. The first is an architecture exhibition entitled “La Bahia de Cádiz y las Relaciones de Ultramar”. It will take place from Monday November 7th to Friday the 11th at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura y Goedesia de la UAH. The second activity will be a panel discussion on immigration, “La inmigración irregular en los Estados Unidos: el caso de Arizona” and it will take place on Tuesday November 15th from 17:00-19:00h at the Aula Luis Rosales at the Trinitarios Building of the UAH. At the same time as the second activity on the 15th the third activity will take place. It will be a panel discussion entitled “Estudios Culturales y Humanidades en la Era l+D+i”. Lastly, on Thursday November 17th and Friday the 18th between 11:00h and 19:00h there will be Movie Screening and panel discussion at the Aula de Audiovisuales of the Málaga Building. The activity will be entitled “Bases Militares y Coca-Cola. Imágenes del Sueño Americano en España”.
