Successful Presentation of the First "Plan Innova-USA"
More than fifty people attended the First Plan Innova- USA, held on May 25th at the International Conference Hall of the UAH, in which Instituto Franklin presented its first Research Plan. During the presentation, different Action Plans were presented, regarding Research Projects as well as publications, scholarships, etc.
This event was presented by José Antonio Gurpegui and Julio Cañero, Director and Deputy Director of Instituto Franklin - UAH; the Project and Program Coordinators, Cristina Crespo and Rosa María García-Barroso; the Director of the Research Group “Friends of Thoreau,” Enrique Alonso; and as representatives of North American Universities, Malcolm Compitello (University of Arizona), Ana Bolino (University of Oklahoma), and Manuel Martín (U. C. at Merced).
This year Instituto Franklin will assign an initial amount of more than 200,000 € for research and the internationalization of the UAH, and in 2011, this amount is expected to reach 250,000 €.
Some initiatives to highlight are the cycle of conferences that the Institute expects to plan with different Faculties, or the announcement made by Professor Malcolm Compitello for the project that is already being carried out in his department at U. of Arizona to initiate a double doctorate degree with Instituto Franklin.
